The Radiocontrolled system installed in the clock receives the time signal generated from an atomic clock transmitted by means of radio waves. The accuracy of the atomic clock and each Citizen Radiocontrolled clock is absolute, with a tolerance of 1 second every 10 million years. Reaching this level of benefits, looking over the progress already made, never stopping before the difficulties until reaching the goal, is the spirit that constitutes the DNA of Citizen.

ECO - DRIVE

The clock that never stops, wherever you are.

One of Citizen's challenges: to develop a technology that guarantees the continuity of the clock's operation, anywhere in the world. In 1976, we invented the first light-fed analog quartz watch that works exclusively using light as a source of energy. This technology, now known as Eco-Drive, can generate energy from any light source (artificial light, natural light and even in dim light) to continue the operation of the clocks without replacing the battery.
