ECO - DRIVE
The clock that never stops, wherever you are.
One of Citizen's challenges: to develop a technology that guarantees the continuity of the clock's operation, anywhere in the world. In 1976, we invented the first light-fed analog quartz watch that works exclusively using light as a source of energy. This technology, now known as Eco-Drive, can generate energy from any light source (artificial light, natural light and even in dim light) to continue the operation of the clocks without replacing the battery.
SUPER TITANIUM
Beyond the limits of matter.
This is the decisive step that Citizen has taken to improve the extraordinary characteristics of a mineral such as titanium. The Super Titanium of Citizen maintains the great lightness typical in titanium but, thanks to an exclusive process its resistance is five times higher.
